As I've noted earlier in this subreddit, having come from in-the-flesh gaming communities (back in the 90s when we still had to physically go somewhere to play multiplayer) and more recent online communities, I've seen that the AoE community in particular is exceptionally well-rounded, mature, kind, helpful, insightful, thoughtful...I'm blabbering now, but you get the idea.
Nonetheless, there are still some truly vitriolic individuals. Such people will go out of their way to say shit that seems to be entirely uncalled for. I get how invested one can be in a game and how competitive we are. And I know some people may actually deserve shit talked to them because they have clearly violated some code or done some demonstrably ignorant or malicious shit. On that note, fair enough.
So, I'm interested to hear how you respond to such online attacks? Do you ignore? Do you respond in kind? Does it at all affect you?
And note: Please if you're going to downvote me, kindly drop a quick line as to why (it would help me better formulate future posts and comments to be able to actually contribute something of substance to this subreddit - thank you!).
