Hey there! I just recently bought AOE2 off of steam. I've got 24 hrs playtime into the game and I feel like I understand most of the more basic elements / strategies. After being able to take out the standard AI with a fair amount of ease (typically I do a fast castle, send a forward castle with siege / melee or cav) I decided I was ready to graduate to moderate AI. I've been having a loooot of trouble though. It seems no matter which civ i play against, they'll have a huge force of crossbowmen at my base by the mid/late fuedal age. I've tried a frush with skirms to kill off the early archers and disrupt villagers, but they somehow produce way more troops than i ever can even with 2-3 archery ranges. Is there anything I'm doing wrong here?
