having Issues with unit creation in scenario editor?

As title says. When I saw Alkhalim's recent video on How to create custom units in AoE2:DE, I was immediately inspired to do my own messing around in the scenario editor. Trouble is, a lot of the things that worked perfectly in Alkhalim's video broke completely when i tried them. Here's a list of the issues I've found, and can't see any reason for:

• Mangudai and Genitours simply will not train. I can begin training them but the percentage to creation would be stuck at zero.
• The gold cost for Mangudai would say 165, instead of the 100 I change it too. Funny thing is, when you train them (or at least attempt to), your resources go down by 100, the correct amount. The Genitour cost showed correctly.
• When I try to change the description of the units in the building, like Alkhalim did for the legionaries, it simply did not work.

I cannot see much reason for a lot of these errors, as I basically copied what Alkhalim did, except that I used different units, and that I used a different building, the trade workshop. If anyone can explain to me what's going wrong, I would be very thankful.
