Thanks all here for the advice in previous posts! After a stretch of practicing my fast castle, I've now been working on a scout rush, trying to get comfortable with a few of the most important build orders by practicing repeatedly. Would anyone have some tips for how to react to getting drushed? When I was practicing fast castle I would just wall heavily and early, but I haven't been able to wall so early while pulling off the scout build. Not asking for like, a silver bullet against the drush, just some advice on how to react and what to practice on defense. Usually I see them coming with some time to spare with my scout, but don't really have any go-to reaction other than just start walling. Thanks!
ETA: when I don't get drushed, my scout play has been working fairly well, so I feel like I'm getting the hang of it, getting comfortable. It's just that when they drush, usually their militia are arriving like, right in the middle of going up to feudal, so I have no scouts yet to defend, and I don't want to waste food on militia ... unless that's a recommended strat to counter enemy militia?
