How well has AOE2-DE been optimized since its release?

I'm planning to modernize an OptiPlex 9020 SFF (i7-4770s).

I know a GTX1650 LP can handle AOE2-DE with high setting @ 60FPS.

I'm trying to gauge how much optimization we can expect for AOE3-DE in the long run because both games were reworked by the same studio.

I want to see whether I should get a GTX1650 LP or wait for the next generation of low profile cards.

Budget is not a major concern. I just don't want to spend more than necessary because I only play these two games occasionally.

Rig specs/ FPS/ Thermals would be greatly appreciated!
