Teutons seem underrated.

I get the impression that Teutons are a meme civ, but when you look at them on paper they don't seem that bad. They do a great job of halbs+mangonels which is a great way to transition from getting scout rushed into fast castle. Their halbs get +1 armor and their mangos get increased armor as well making them harder to snipe. Plus you can get siege engineers and ironclad without going up to imperial. Your monks have a fully open tech tree and double the range on healing which is just gravy. Their eco bonus leaves you with plenty of wood for siege and halbs. If you're on a map that favors it, you can fast castle into conversion resistant knights which helps if your opponent tries to counter with monks. Eventually you get FU paladins. You even have bonuses for sustaining a tower rush into the castle age if you need to but that is pretty fringe. I guess what I'm saying is while they are not top tier, it definitely seems like they are middling as there are a lot of other worse civs out there.
