Are there some prerequisites for completing achievements?

Do you need to play the game on specific settings in order to trigger the achievements? I'm playing on Random Map, Arabia, Size: 4 players and AI difficulty Moderate-Hard. Few of the achievements won't trigger for me.

For the last 7-8 games, the Relic collection achievement is sitting at 92/100 even though I've collected more than 10 relics in the last few matches.
