Game won't start. Anybody know the fix to this issue?

I bought the game a last year through steam and have had little to no issue getting it to work. Then, a few months ago, whenever i go to play the game, it refuses to start without giving any error messages. I did all the stuff steam side and nothing worked. I then decided to start it directly through the launcher in the game files when I get the following error message.

"Launcher.exe - System Error

The program can't start because mfc140u.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem."

Here's the thing...that's BS. I do have the file in question. It's on my computer. I've checked. I've sent an email to support and gotten no response on the issue. Does anyone here know how to fix this?
