Hard to click and select what I want

So I play on a large monitor with 1920x1080 res. Not sure if the large monitor is causing the issue but I have trouble clicking the units I want. For example, when I try to select the weak scout from the group, I might select the scout next to it. When a bunch of spears are attacking a palisade, the villager have trouble building it because it keeps trying to attack those spears. Is there like a small/precision cursor mod or something that can fix the hitboxes? Also can it be a resolution issue?
